China, the most populous country of the world, is the third most visited tourist destination in the globe with a 55.98 million international tourist arrivals a year. In the year 2010, China earned a $45.8 billion from foreign tourist arrivals, thus, became 4th largest foreign exchange earner from tourism industry. It had a 1.61 billion domestic tourist visits in that year earning 777.1 billion Yuan.
Tourism industry of China has largely developed over the past few decades with the start of economic reform and opening. The appearance of a recently rich middle class and a lessening of constraints on public movement by the Chinese government are both encouraging this travel bang. WTO has forecasted that by the year 2020, china will emerge as the largest tourism market.
