Never Miss Visiting Taj Mahal, the Jewel of Muslim Art in India

Taj Mahal, the jewel of Muslim art in India, is known as one of eight wonders on the planet.  According to some western historians, Taj Mahal is the most beautiful building in the entire world.  This stunning architectural beauty was built by the Mughal ruler Shah Jahan commemorating his third wife Mumtaz.  Taj Mahal was built using white marble only.  It is located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. In 1983, it was declared as World Heritage Site by UNESCO.  The construction work of Taj Mahal was started in 1632 and ended in 1653.  It cost about 32 million Rupees and used thousands of artists and craftsman to build this magnificent beauty.

Taj Mahal stands on a square platform measuring 186 x 186 feet with a total of four corners curtailed forming an uneven octagon.  Its central dome is 213 feet high and has a diameter of 58 feet. Each of four of its graceful, slim minarets is 162.5 feet tall.

This spectacular architectural master piece is beyond sufficient description, especially at the time of sunrise and sunset.  It takes different looks in different part of the day.  It looks most glowing in the light of full moon.  And in foggy morning, it takes another look when viewed across the river Jamuna.
